I have been going to Samurai for more than 20 years and the food is always delicious. There are multiple sushi restaurants closer to me but, if I want the freshest, most delicious fish, I drive to Samurai. Their sushi is for people who truly value good, fresh fish at a great price. The restaurant is roomy and the service always fantastic. The menu is large and varied so there is something for everyone. Highly recommend!
Say at the bar, got some excellent cuts of Toro and Sake nigiri and a nice FAT futomaki roll. Had a nice conversation with sushi chef. Place deserves more traffic.
My wife and I enjoy Samurai Sushi for lunch. It is open and comfortable atmosphere. Servers are always great. I usually order the Chirashi or Nigiri Deluxe. Both have a nice selection of fish. Soup and salad are typical sides. A small but decent selection of beer on tap completes the meal. I would recommend trying this out of the way restaurant sometime.
I came here with a couple of friends after paddling kayaks on the lake. It was late on a Sunday evening and there were few other diners present. I wanted just an ala carte unagi plate and a draft beer while my friends ordered full dinners. One ordered a tempura dinner and the other ordered sushi rolls. The ambience was nice. We had a booth. Noise level was low due to few other diners. It was easy to have a conversation and be heard. The beer selection wasn't very big. The one notable choice was listed on their special board: the Gummy Worm IPA from one of my favorite local breweries! It would be the perfect refreshing after-activity beverage for me. Service was just right. When we arrived, we were all quite thirsty after all the time in the sun kayaking around the lake. We'd asked for separate checks, immediate water, and our food orders and got everything we needed. It'd been years since I ate here. The company and the food went well together and I am not going to wait so long before eating here again.
Always a good experience when we come here. Driving to the place, it doesn't look like much. No one is ever at the bar. And the restaurant is never full. But don't let that fool you. The sushi is so fresh. The cooked food is delicious! We love the sushi chef, Richard. My husband has been coming here for over 20 years. It was actually one of our first dates in the early 2000's. Back when I didn't eat sushi Friendly and efficient wait staff.. clean bathrooms.. good food.
